This is a short list of our most frequently asked questions. For more information about Story Builder, or if you need additional support, please contact us.
Story Builder is a unique tool that helps you capture your personal journey with cancer, step by step. You will be asked a series of questions to help you write your story. You may choose to skip questions or return to them later. In the end, your story will be documented, and you can use it to inspire others!
Each of the segments in the progress bar represents a step in the Story Builder process. Hover over or tap any of these segments to get a reminder of what‘s contained in that step. If you click on the segment, you will be taken to that step in the process.
You can skip any question if you don‘t want to answer it. Just click “Skip” at the bottom of the page.
Notice that if you skip a question, the segment in the progress bar appears in a darker shade than the segments for which you’ve completed the questions. Skipping a question does not affect your ability to print or share your story.
Simply click on that segment if you wish to go back and answer that question, and you will be taken to that page.
Story Builder saves your story at each step, so you can come back and resume writing or editing at any time. When you return to continue your story, you will be taken to the page where you left off.
You can then click on any segment in the progress bar to be taken to any step in the process.
Once you‘ve completed your story, you can download and print it as a PDF file. You‘ll need Adobe Acrobat Reader—an application that allows you to view and print PDF files.
If you need to install Acrobat Reader, you can download it for free here.
Once in Acrobat Reader, open the PDF of your story, then select “Print” to print to your selected printer.
If you later decide that you wish to share your story with others through CTCA, please contact us at email@example.com.
Once you complete your story, you‘ll receive an email confirmation that includes a link for downloading. Clicking this link will take you to a new page where you can download your story. You can share this link with others if you wish.
You can also return to Story Builder at any time to download your story. On the first screen (your Story Status screen), click “Download Your Story” to download your PDF.
When you return to Story Builder, you will see an “Edit” link below the preview of your story.
Clicking “Edit” takes you to the title page of your story. You can then click any segment in the progress bar to navigate to any step in the Story Builder process.
If you‘re signed in, your first page shows your Story Status.
Simply click on the second segment in the progress bar. (When you hover over or tap a segment in the bar, you get a reminder of what is contained in that step.) This step is called “Theme.”
Choose a new theme and click “Continue,” or use the progress bar to navigate to any step in the Story Builder process.
